October 31, 2011!

1.  Trick or Treat!  It's Halloween and everyone seems to be in the spirit! All ages included, little children and adults all see to be dressing up for the holiday.  Some of the most popular costumes this year were Where's Waldo, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, an Angry Bird, Captain America, and Tron.  Well everyone enjoy your one night to dress up as anything and get free candy!

Here are a few pictures of how some celebrities dressed up:

Kim K as poision ivy                            Hieid Klum                   Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon, and their twins

2.  Kim Kardashian filed for divorce earlier this morning after marrying basketball player Kris Humphries.  Only 72 days after having a more elaborate and more talked about wedding than the Prince of England they are going their seperate ways.  However who is really surprised by any of this?  If any one has watched "Keeping up with the Kardashians," on E! or if you managed to watch the two hour wedding you will know that this divorce was inevitable and was coming soon.  Well Kim, you got your fairytale wedding, just didn't have your fairytale ending.

3.  Innocent Taylor Swift may not be so innocent.  On the celeb Jihad site they have posted a topless picture of Taylor Swift laying on a bed.  Taylor claims the picture is not real and is threatning to sue.  The guy behind this site is really making a name for himself as he tears apart celebrities images.  Everyone knows how innocent Swift is, the girl wears nude spanx under her dresses at concerts to avoid wardrobe malfunctions.  Taylor we are on your side!

4.  There is much buzz about the rookie quarterback Cam Newton who plays for the North Carolina Panthers.  Although the rookie isn't exactly winning every game his stats are just amazing.  Newton is now the 4th rookie quarterback since 1960 with 5-250 yard passing games.  He is currently being called the fifth best QB in the league.  Rookie of the year? Right now it's looking quite possible, even with a losing record.  Cam, let's see a win here, you just lost to the Vikings!

5.  16-foot burmese python found in the Everglades, Florida has supposedly killed and ate a 75 pound deer.  That is the biggest intact prey ever discovered.  The python was shot and killed due to the potential danger to the area.  Even though they are currently found mostly around Florida the pythons now have adapted to cooler weather and could even survive in D.C.  Watch out Barack!

Top 5 Trends for Sunday October 23

1. Rex Ryan is obviously trending, the guy doesn't know when to shut his mouth.  We get you are honest, you should be respected for that.  However, nationally insulting the chargers head coach, I mean come on?  Rex Ryan was making fun of the chargers head coach because the Sand Diego chargers have never won a Superbowl. Hey Rex Ryan, you haven't done anything with the jets, be quiet and worry about your own team.

2.  Ashton, am I being "Punkd" or are you still with Demi?  Rumors are going around that he allegedly committed infidelity.  Although he recently posted a video stating, "We are our own editors, and our own publishers and printers, and therefore anyone can bastardize in any way, shape, or form they want and spread it all around the world."  Ironic he is showing his ring in his newly posted photo?  Who knows, but let's get it together please.

3.  Mark Henry vs. Big Show, it was inevitable that Big Show was going to challenge Henry once again for the World Heavyweight Championship because Henry had put out Big Show before.  Except the feuding between the two doesn't just stop there, the two hate each other, which makes for a good fight.  But regardless to how big the feud is the fight will only last around ten minutes.  So if you are watching the big fight, don't fall asleep to the build up of the fight and don't blink while they are fighting.

4.  Turkey Earthquake: Victims of the Turkey earthquake you are in everyone's thoughts, as Van Turkey experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2.  It was the worst earthquake they have had since over a decade.  The numbers of death rose this evening to a high of 138.  Many rescuers are still searching for people.  Take a moment for those lost, and pray for the families in Turkey.

5.  Who is this Herman Cain and what is he really about?  Though he is desperately trying to get into the White House, he is finding it the hard way what it means to be in the national spotlight.  Over the past week he has mentioned setting up electric fences along the Mexico and United States border, killing illegal immigrants.  He also brought up negotiating with terrorists who are holding U.S. soldiers in prison.  Not to mention he told CNN he didn't believe in abortion, yet the government should not make social decisions.  Cain I strongly suggest saying things in your head a few times before saying them to the public if you would like any chance in the White House.

Overview

My name is Rachel Pollock and I will be writing for the magazine, People.  My column is all about what is currently trending in the world.  Some sites such as Twitter and Yahoo, have a list of topics that are trending right at the moment.  What does trending mean you may ask?  It simply means someone or something that is being talked about a lot.  My style of writing will following some of People's style of writing.  I will be writing facts yet I will also be writing from my opinion, in a tone that comes of sarcastic at times.
